Development and evaluation of an innovative grain cart with a pneumatic conveyor

Abstract: In line with the requirements of the Egyptian government to find a solution for wheat transportation during the peak harvesting season, an innovative design for a grain cart with a capacity of 8 tons supplemented with a grain hopper, a lifting double-action pneumatic conveyor, and a built-in digital scale was tested and evaluated to facilitate the transport of wheat crops from farmers' fields to storage sites. The cart was manufactured in the workshop of a local industrial company. It was tested under varying … Show more

“…Bellochio and Coradi report that for a long time, grain raw materials are subject to storage in specially equipped granaries and elevators and compliance with grain quality indicators at the level of all producers: farmers, agricultural firms, united associations, industrial grain combines [20]. Kholy and Kamel describe the condition of grain warehouses in conformity with their purpose, dividing them into purchasing, transhipment, production, and basic [21]. “…High-quality seed varieties are significant in ensuring high and stable wheat yield. According to statistics, in developed countries, the comprehensive contribution of superior seed varieties to agricultural production growth can be as high as 50% [3,4] . Agronomists must carry out large-scale field breeding experiments [5] to cultivate superior seeds.…”
