This research paper describes the approaches and perspectives of telemedicine worldwide. The objective of this literature review was to analyze the theoretical and empirical studies that address telemedicine management in the last 10 years based on the scientific literature obtained from the Scopus, Scielo, Ebsco, ProQuest, Dialnet, and Redalyc databases, from which 50 articles were selected. The inclusion criteria were the last 10 years, scientific articles, language, variables, and open access. The non-inclusion criteria were repeated articles, not addressing the variable, and not open access. The results show a tendency to manage telemedicine through various approaches and scenarios. These can be grouped into humanistic, socioeconomic, ethical, contingency in the Armed Forces—NASA, and application in the field of medicine with teaching to the entire chain of users, as well as controls and monitoring of patients. In this sense, it is concluded that telemedicine management worldwide faces challenges that must be overcome to reduce still-existing barriers and achieve better access to health systems worldwide.

Background: Telerehabilitation is an emerging technology that uses digital technologies to perform evaluation, counseling, treatment, and telemonitoring to provide rehabilitative care to patients in various locations such as homes, communities, health centers, and workplaces. This approach has advantages such as reducing costs and overcoming barriers of distance and time. Reducing patient-rehabilitator interaction, and being hard to teamwork and express thoughts and feelings are some disadvantages of this approach. TR services are provided by a variety of rehabilitation specialists. The aim of the study was to identify barriers in the way of implementing TR in Iran Methods: This study was conducted using a conventional content analysis method based on a qualitative approach. 26 people were selected as participants based on purposive sampling with maximum diversity. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and managed using MAXQDA 10 software. Results: 765 codes were extracted by conducting interviews and coding. The findings of this study are classified into seven main categories and 32 sub-categories. The main categories are insufficient infrastructure, legal, physical, and moral hazards, lack of priority and insufficient determination, insufficient support of the public and non-governmental organizations, poor knowledge in using equipment, Lack of knowledge and negative attitude, and low capacity in comparison with face-to-face rehabilitation. Conclusion: This study shows that based on the insights from the experiences of participants, inadequate infrastructure and poor knowledge of the use of equipment are the most important obstacles in the way of TR. This study reveals that the implementation of TR in Iran encounters several obstacles and eliminating them requires serious effort.

Given Colombia’s status as a middle-income country with healthcare challenges, leveraging telemedicine could significantly benefit hard-to-reach regions, under-resourced and underserved communities. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the country's telerehabilitation landscape, exploring the clinicians' and patients' perspectives during the COVID-19 pandemic through systematic review and qualitative analysis. Sixteen therapists and three patients were identified via snowball sampling. The literature review was scarce and scattered across various topics in the country; some studies delved into specific aspects like legislative frameworks and patient outcomes from different medical specialties. The qualitative analysis demonstrates that despite the learning curve, telerehabilitation strengthens therapeutic support, enhances patient autonomy, fosters a positive patient-provider relationship, achieves treatment goals, promotes family involvement, reduces time and costs, and ensures continuity of therapy services. This study identified research gaps, challenges, and opportunities in telerehabilitation in a Latin American country. Adopting telemedicine technologies in low- and middle-income countries could significantly enhance their healthcare systems.
