Development of a high performance liquid chromatography method for simultaneous analysis of theophylline, guaifenesin and diphenhydramine in an elixir

Abstract: Purpose: To develop and validate a new low-cost high performance liquid  chromatography (HPLC) method for simultaneous analysis of theophylline (TH), guaifenesin (GF) and diphenhydramine hydrochloride (DH) in elixir dosage form.Methods: Chromatographic conditions were an isocratic elution with C18-Kromasil® column (250 x 4.6 mm, 5 μm), methanol-water (1:1, v/v, pH 3,0) as mobile phase, flow rate 1.0 ml/min and UV detector at λ 218 nm.
