Development of a standard bending test for rope yarns.

Abstract: In considering the properties of cordage the need for physical tests other than those for breaking strength was evident. Accordingly, a study of other methods of test which would more nearly simulate service conditions was undertaken. Apparatus to test the effect of bending a rope yarn was designed and built.
