Development of Multi-Item Air Quality Monitoring System Based on Real-Time Data

Abstract: Many air pollutants are inhaled by human breathing, increasing the prevalence of respiratory disease and even mortality. With the recent COVID-19 issue, the number of air pollutants affecting humans is demands further investigation. However, there are not many adequate air measuring devices that can cover a variety of air pollutants. In this study, the developed air measurement system is able to measure sixteen air pollutants (PM10, PM2.5, PM4.0, PM1.0, CO2, CH4, temperature, humidity, VOCs, O2, H2S, NH3, SO2,… Show more

“…All use wireless transmission technology (WiFi), with system power via a power source connected to electrical outlets and interfaces divided into two parts: Web and Applications. The work most similar to our work found in the literature depicts the development step by step [8], however, not providing enough data for the project to be replicated. But, the author shows in the work all the components used, including sensors and the connections between the components through block diagrams.…”

“…The fifth paper presents the development of a multi-item air quality monitoring system that enables the real-time monitoring of various parameters. The system includes a compact measuring device and a user-friendly smartphone application, providing convenient access to air quality information [5]. Insights into the characteristics of airborne particles are provided in the sixth paper, with an emphasis on the influence of traffic and potential transboundary effects on air quality.…”

“…Consequently, to effectively control pollutant emissions, reliable and accurate air quality data are needed. In this sense, there is an increased interest in the development of high-performance air quality monitoring systems, based on low-cost sensors, which are miniaturized and easy to implement in portable devices [9].…”
