Abstract:Efficient desalination through a reverse osmosis (RO) membrane requires the prior removal of blockade-causing substances from raw seawater. We achieve ultrahigh-speed processing by combining traditional softening with ballasted flocculation (SBF) for Ca2+ and Mg2+ removal.
