“…The digestive tract development and capacity for digestion of food in S. annulatus from fertilized egg to 32 DPH were studied by histological, histochemical and reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction methods (García-Gasca et al 2006 species from the Tetraodontidae family (Kumai et al 1989). As for the activity of digestive enzymes during larval development in the bullseye puffer, it was found that trypsin activity, one of the main digestive enzymes during the larval phase of marine fish, starts at 2 DHP reaching a peak from 16 to 24 DPH, which corresponds to the Artemia feeding period (García-Gasca et al 2006). The gene expression of trypsinogen was first detected in 24-h fertilized eggs, then showing a significant increase at 75 h post-fertilization and at 4 DPH when the fish larvae starts exogenous feeding.…”
