Developments in Ferrous Production Metallurgy in 1983

Abstract: The authors claim their procedure takes less time and offers higher accuracy than competing methods.A recent Soviet patent l6 suggests an improved method for quenching an anode effect, claiming that if ali alumina charge is added to the electrolyte and the anodes are raised to a level 50-80% greater than the normal interelectrode separation, the effect can be quenched in two minutes or less.
