Devising an automated technology to organize the railroad transportation of containers for intermodal deliveries based on the theory of point processes

Abstract: Management of intermodal transportation is a complex and responsible process. Operators use railroads in combination with maritime transport in international and intercontinental container shipping traditionally. The task of railroad transport is to provide transportation on the so-called "land bridges"-land sections, where a route begins or ends, or through which it passes as transit. Delays in the delivery of goods in the field of container intermodal transport do not decrease despite a considerable level of… Show more

“…The efficiency of multimodal transportation is determined by the level of coordination of different modes of transport and 220 transshipment points. Since chaotic development can lead to unreasonable costs for a particular industry, there must be a balance in the development of each mode of transport and transshipment points in the field of multimodal transportation in order to meet customer needs [19].…”

“…Moreover, the development of robust scheduling models for railway container transportation organizations, considering external factors, is a critical area of study. Parkhomenko et al [15,16] introduced a rapid railway container transport organization model utilizing robust optimization techniques. Their model adopts a multi-objective approach, integrating considerations for the environment, traffic, municipal administration, and the economy.…”
