Abstract:Approximately 3 to 5% of patients with congenital cardiac disease have dextrocardia with situs inversus. During the transesophageal echocardiographic evaluation of these patients, modifications of multiplane angles and manipulations of the probe are required to obtain desired echocardiographic views compared to patients with normal hearts.
