“…Additionally, it is important to mention that the fouling process in BDDEs can be significantly suppressed due to the weak adsorption of fouling molecules on the surface or the potential generation of strong oxidants to suppress the formation of biofilm via self‐cleaning [133].…”

“…It can serve as a component of composites for electronic and optical devices working at low or high temperatures in aggressive environments. 1,2 In the manufacturing of composites for cutting tool and heat sink applications, the diamond surface is first modified to increase its wettability by the metal matrix. The coatings deposited on diamond are usually of metallic or carbide nature.…”

“…The electrochemical reduction can be an appealing option for NDMA removal by a direct electrotransfer reaction. , However, traditional electrodes with flow-by mode suffer from the limitation of mass transfer. Thus, long residence times are required to reduce NDMA concentrations falling below levels known to pose chronic health risks. , Meanwhile, fouling on the surface of electrodes happens when treating complex water matrices. Electroactive membrane technology has the potential to address these inherent limitations by separation and mass-transfer-enhanced flow-through operation mode, , and endowed more possibility for integrating synergistic processes, such as generating hydroxyl radicals via both anodic water oxidation and cathodic heterogeneous Fenton process, and the H*-mediated electrocatalytic filtration system for an efficient advanced oxidation process . Notably, the hydrogen evolution reaction as a side reaction is inevitable at the high cathode potential for NDMA removal, ,, which would increase the energy cost and decrease the decontamination efficiency.…”
