“…However, the specific COR, was only observed in some Voorspoed diamonds and does not appear to be representative of cpx inclusions in diamonds worldwide. The unrepresentative nature of Voorspoed diamonds is also suggested by their very unusual inclusion compositions and thermobarometric data (Viljoen et al, 2018;Kempe et al, 2021;Nimis et al, 2020).…”

“…A major problem of interpretation of the location of diamonds in the SCLM is thermobarometry. For Cr-diopside, the single grain barometer of P. Nimis and W.Taylor [158] gives rather good estimates [159,160] but does not work for the low-Cr eclogitic and basaltic pyroxenitic systems. S. Simakov and L.Taylor [161] suggested a barometer using a series of equations and references which gave estimates for eclogitic Cpx but without direct formulae, so it is difficult for other people to use this thermobarometer.…”

“…Our modified calibration addresses the progressive and systematic underestimation of P above 4 GPa by the original NT00 Cr-in-Cpx geobarometer calibration. The empirical recalibration of NT00 geobarometer proposed by Nimis et al (2020) appears to provide a closer approximation for pressures in the 4.5-6 GPa interval but still carries significant uncertainties at higher pressure due to the small number of xenoliths equilibrated at and above 6 GPa. The improved reliability and precision of our calibration for P estimates > 5 GPa has been demonstrated through application to cpx from garnet-lherzolite and garnet-pyroxenite xenoliths from the Diavik-Ekati kimberlite and Argyle lamproite pipes.…”
