“…DTI of the lateral myocardial basal segment might have differed depending on the location of myocardial ischemia. 29 However, in our study, the velocities of DTI were influenced by the extent rather than the location of ischemia; after adjustment for age and sex, Doppler variables in patients with ischemia in the anterior circulation distribution were similar to those in patients with ischemia in the posterior circulation distribution. However, had the objective of the study been to accurately localize ischemia, Doppler measurements at both sites would have been indicated.…”

“…Conventional interpretation of DSE involves the assessment of regional or global systolic function and is dependent on the quality of the images and experience of the observers 3 . In order to quantitatively evaluate the echocardiographic response to stress and, due to the observation that diastolic dysfunction precedes the development of systolic dysfunction during ischemia, 4 tissue Doppler–derived indices of systolic and diastolic function have been applied during DSE for the detection of CAD 5–10 . Using tissue Doppler imaging (TDI), a dobutamine‐induced reduction in the peak annular velocities in systole and diastole has been demonstrated to identify CAD in patients with normal renal function 8–10 …”

“…For functional evaluation, TVI examination is more sensitive than conventional Doppler studies ( 26 ). We can examine the local or global myocardium injury from TVI studies with less confounding factors than a conventional Doppler study.…”
