Abstract:Acute pulmonary embolism (APE) presents with a broad clinical spectrum ranging from an even asymptomatic course to sudden cardiac death. Because APE is potentially life-threatening every suspicion of APE has to be clarified promptly by validated diagnostic algorithms.
