Diet Coke or Not?

Abstract: Many obese patients are attempting to diet. Furthermore, many gastric restrictive procedures permit the ready flow of liquids, and the individual may want to be assured that the liquid is in the "non-calorie" form. Many obese patients have diabetes, and an incorrect or misrepresented beverage can result in elevated plasma glucose with a disruption in glycemic control.
