Differences in the distribution of CD20, CD3, CD34 and CD45RO in nasal mucosa and polyps from patients with chronic rhinosinusitis

Abstract: The present study focused on the assessment of the inflammatory infiltrate that characterizes nasal polyps in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis and nasal polyposis. Inflammatory cell type was determined using specific markers. This evaluation was made possible by determining the expression of the following markers: CD20, a marker of B lymphocytes [using activated T cells (ATC) armed with CD20 antibody]; CD3, a marker of T lymphocytes (using ATC armed with anti-CD3 antibody); CD45, the leukocyte common antig… Show more

“…The antibodies used in the present study are shown in Table 1 together with the clone and source of provenance, the dilution used, as well as the mode of removal and the tissue used for the positive external control. For the semi-quantitative assessment of analyzed markers, we used an adapted scoring system based on literature data [14][15][16][17][18][19][20], which followed the evaluation of immunolabeled cells number. The reactions were quantified as follows:…”
