Abstract:Natural gas metallic pipelines are frequently passed by high-voltage overhead transmission lines (HVOHTLs). Corrosion may occur due to the parallelism between HVOHTLs and pipelines, where electromagnetic fields couple between them. Furthermore, these fields cause an AC voltage to generate on the buried pipeline. This study presents two examinations that use two several AC mitigation units: a potassium hydroxide polarization cell (KOH-PC) and a Solid State Polarization Cell (SSPC) to mitigate induced AC voltage… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
