Differentiable maps with isolated critical points are not necessarily open in infinite dimensional spaces

Abstract: Jean Saint Raymond asked whether continuously differentiable maps with isolated critical points are necessarily open in infinite dimensional (Hilbert) spaces. We answer this question negatively by constructing counterexamples in various settings.
