Abstract:Pneumocystis jirovecii is ubiquitous in the environment and is best known as the cause of Pneumocystis pneumonia (PCP) in immune-suppressed hosts. Extrapulmonary P. jirovecii is a rare complication of this opportunistic infection primarily seen in patients with immune-deficient states.
