Diluted magnetic semiconductors: An interface of semiconductor physics and magnetism (invited)

Abstract: Integrated magnetic spectroscopy of dilute magnetic semiconductors (invited)This paper reviews the electrical, magnetic, and optical properties of diluted magnetic semiconductors (sometimes also referred to as "semi magnetic" semiconductors). These materials are ternary semiconductor alloys whose lattice is made up in part of substitutional magnetic ions. Cd,_,Mn,Te and Hg,_,Mn,Te are examples of such systems. As semiconductors, these alloys display interesting and important p~o~ertles, su.ch as the variation … Show more

“…Необходимо отметить, что к настоящему времени уже опубликован ряд обзоров, посвященных ПМП [3][4][5][6][7][8][9], однако эффекту Фарадея в них уделено мало места и они не дают полного представления об этом на правлении в интенсивных исследованиях ПМП.…”

“…Many investigations of Cd1-xMnxTe and Ζn1-xMn x Te were carried out with applying different experimental and theoretical methods [1][2][3][4][5][6]. Today, it is clearly understood that for Cd1-x Mn x Τe the fundamental energy gap increase linearly with Mn content [2,3] in opposite to Ζn1-xMnxTe where deviation from linear behaviour in 0 < x < 0.1 region of Mn content has been observed [4].…”

“…The semiconducting compounds Cd 1 -x Mnx Τe and Ζn1-x Mn x Te belong to the family of diluted magnetic semiconduction DMSs [1]. Many investigations of Cd1-xMnxTe and Ζn1-xMn x Te were carried out with applying different experimental and theoretical methods [1][2][3][4][5][6].…”

“…Because of their important semiconducting and magnetic properties [1], DMS have recently been the subject of extensive studies. These ternary systems contain magnetic atoms which randomly replace some of cations in the II-VI semiconductor lattice.…”
