Direct optical‐to‐microwave domain conversion

Abstract: A novel method for direct conversion of optical signals into microwave signals is proposed. This method is based on the optical controlling of microwave devices. The feasibility of the proposed method is experimentally proved for a microstrip line implemented on Si substrate.
