Abstract:Many multilinear discrete operators are primed for pointwise decomposition; such decompositions give structural information but also an essentially optimal range of bounds. We study the (continuous) slicing method of Jeong and Lee -which when debuted instantly gave sharp multilinear operator bounds -in the discrete setting. Via several examples, number theoretic connections, pointed commentary, and a unified theory we hope that this useful technique will lead to further applications.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
