Abstract:Cortical atrophy in behavioral variant frontotemporal degeneration (bvFTD) exhibits spatial heterogeneity across genetic subgroups, potentially driven by distinct biological mechanisms. Using an integrative imaging-transcriptomics approach, we identified disparate and shared transcriptomic signatures associated with cortical thickness in C9orf72, GRN or MAPT-related bvFTD. Genes associated with cortical thinning in GRN-bvFTD were implicated in neurotransmission, further supported by mapping synaptic density ma… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
