Distance bounds for generalized bicycle codes

Abstract: Generalized bicycle (GB) codes is a class of quantum error-correcting codes constructed from a pair of binary circulant matrices. Unlike for other simple quantum code ansätze, unrestricted GB codes may have linear distance scaling.
