This study aims at assessing the performance of agricultural extension services (also known as agricultural advisory services) and the behavior of vegetable farmers while examining the correlation between these two variables. Data were collected through direct interviews, discussions with farmers, and on-site observations conducted in the Terjun region of Medan Marelan, North Sumatra, Indonesia. A simple random sampling method was employed, with 48 samples selected without consideration of population strata. This research adopts a descriptive and quantitative qualitative research approach. The findings reveal two key performance indicators for agricultural extension workers. First, the assessment of visits and training indicated an average score of 146.2, with a 76.14% rating, categorizing it as 'good.' Second, the evaluation of the extension workers' performance yielded a similar score of 146.2, also categorized as 'good.' The correlation analysis between farmer behavior and the performance of agricultural extension workers yielded three distinct outcomes. Firstly, the correlation between farmers' knowledge and the performance of extension workers resulted in a value of 0.175, indicating a very weak correlation with a significance value exceeding 0.05. Secondly, the correlation between farmers' characteristics and the performance of extension workers showed a coefficient of 0.014, suggesting a very weak correlation with a significance value exceeding 0.05. Lastly, the correlation between farmers' skills and the performance of extension workers resulted in a coefficient of 0.166, denoting a very weak correlation with a significance value exceeding 0.05.

The study aimed to highlight the peculiarities of the formation and use of strategies for entering the foreign market by modern business entities, using enterprises in the agrarian sector of the economy as an example. The methods of economic and statistical analysis, including the Wilcoxon statistical method for comparing trends, as well as the scoring method, were used to process the data. The current study identified the peculiarities of the development of the agricultural sector in the European Union countries and Ukraine in particular, focusing on the main challenges and opportunities faced by agricultural enterprises in the context of globalisation. It was found that the development of the agricultural sector depends on access to resources, technological progress and appropriate state support. The importance of introducing innovations and attracting investments to increase the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises was emphasised. The main motives and strategies for their entry into foreign markets were outlined, including: product differentiation strategy, pricing strategy (cost leadership strategy), innovation strategy, expansion into new markets, branding strategy, sustainable development strategy, and localization strategy. The article analysed the agricultural sector of Ukraine and provides an overview of strategies for entering foreign markets of 15 Ukrainian agricultural enterprises, drawing attention to existing problems in infrastructure and logistics. The author substantiated the areas of improvement, including investments in modernization, development of logistics networks and improvement of product quality in accordance with international standards, which will help to increase their competitiveness in the global market. The obtained results emphasise the importance of an integrated approach, including product differentiation, price competition and innovation strategies to ensure the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises in the global market, as well as the need to adapt strategies to the specifics of local markets and sustainable development trends

Impact of leasing transactions on business development in Kyrgyzstan

The purpose of this study was to determine how leasing transactions contribute to business modernisation in Kyrgyzstan. The study used survey methods and semi-structured interviews with company representatives, followed by statistical analysis of the collected data to determine changes in productivity, operating costs, and investment payback period. In particular, the results showed that 90% of the surveyed agricultural enterprises reported a 25-30% increase in productivity after using leasing to purchase machinery, which was confirmed by analysing data on the reduction of repair and maintenance costs for old equipment. In transport logistics, 85% of the companies indicated a reduction in operating costs and improvement of logistics processes due to fleet renewal through leasing programmes, which also contributed to an increase in the customer base by 15-20%. In the construction sector, the use of leasing allowed 82% of companies to reduce project completion time by 20-25%, which was due to the acquisition of new construction equipment through leasing, which can accelerate the performance of work and improve the quality of projects. In the manufacturing sector, 70% of companies reported a positive impact of leasing on their production capacity, but a longer payback period was identified, which requires the development of specialised leasing programmes with more flexible terms for industrial enterprises. The results of the study confirmed the important role of leasing as a financial instrument for the modernisation of enterprises in Kyrgyzstan, but also reveal the need to improve the access of small enterprises to leasing programmes and adapt the conditions for sectors with a long investment cycle, such as manufacturing
