“…This is suggested by the disappearance of the bands near 2000 cm −1 which are due to ν(Ru─H) . The strong absorption band located at 1918–1946 cm −1 in the spectra of the complexes is attributed to coordination of terminal CO . Further strong bands appearing near 1090 and 740 cm −1 are attributed to ν(PPh 3 ) vibrations …”

“…IR spectra of the ligands showed broad bands at 3200–3400 cm −1 due to ν(OH) involved in intramolecular hydrogen bonding (O─H⋅⋅⋅N), and also for ν(NH) stretches . The other bands near 1695, 1575, 1060 and 995 cm −1 are attributed to lactone carbonyl ν(C─O), azomethine ν(C─N), thiocarbonyl ν(C─S) and hydrazide ν(N─N) vibrations, respectively. The presence of thioamide moiety (─NH─C─S) suggests that both ligands are present in thione form (Scheme a).…”

“…In order to confirm the presence of triphenylphosphine group, the 31 P NMR spectrum was recorded for complex 2 . A sharp singlet is observed at 17.29 ppm which shows the presence of phosphorous atom and thus suggesting the presence of triphenylphosphine group in complex 2 …”

“…The composition (by mass) of MS is: C 0.14, Mn 0.57, Al 0.05, Cr 0.03, Si 0.02, Cu 0.01 and balance is Fe. The inhibitor MNBHC was prepared according to the reported procedure of Sampath et al [10]. The product so obtained was taken for the investigation of corrosion inhibition study.…”

“…The strong band at 1342 cm -1 is attributed to NO 2 symmetric stretching in aromatic nitro group and the band at 1103 cm -1 is assigned for N-N stretching. The C=S stretching vibration is found at 850 cm -1 [10,21,22]. Figure 5b shows that the absorption frequencies corresponding to N-H are shifted from 3368 to 3379 cm -1 and 3148 to 3145cm -1 respectively.…”
