“…To overcome these issues, manufacturers must implement sustainability practices that promote cleaner production, efficient resource usage, good waste management, and the utilization of renewable energy sources. Manufacturing enterprises can reduce their environmental effect and contribute to a more sustainable future for Uganda by implementing these practices (Kaawaase et al, 2021; NEMA, 2019).…”

“…Marano and Kostova (2016) found factors supporting specific pressures on US multinational businesses' CSR policies; however, their study ignored SPs' economic and environmental facets. Kaawaase et al (2021), in their study on sustainable development practices in Uganda, ignored the effect of IPs. To this end, the literature on IP and SP has contradicting findings, notably across jurisdictions, and studies primarily focus on developed countries, leaving a study deficit in less‐developed countries such as Uganda.…”

“…The energy sector substantially contributes to the socioeconomic development of a country as the energy is needed for a wide variety of human activities, including warming, cooking, storage, transportation and so forth (Rahman, 2020). Efficient management of the sector is strongly related to sustainable development through the elimination of poverty and hunger, the improvement of population health, as well as the ecological balance (Rahman, 2020; Kaawaase et al , 2022). To achieve sustainable development objectives, clear mechanisms must be established relating to the optimal management of energy and its consumption (Kaawaase et al , 2022).…”

The electricity distribution sector is conceptualized as a complex socio-technical system, comprising technological, economic, political and social features that interact through actors governed by rules, routines and practices, which in turn determine its relative stability (Bhatt and Singh, 2021).…”
