“…-statistically non-significant difference between vegetation on arable soil and vegetation in the area of medieval ore extraction; * -significant difference p = 0.05; ** -significant difference p = 0.01. (Partzsch 2011), presents also a significant relation with the habitats of later period of succession (also in areas of medieval ore extraction), as shown in Figure 3. Woody plants predominate in the areas abandoned be- fore 1990 (Figure 3, 4c These results correspond to the conclusion made by Debussche & Lepart (1992) that the best conditions for the development of tree seedlings with pulpy fruits occur at the edge of large tree crowns.…”

“…Previous studies have shown that high seeding density in Cultivated grasslands leads to intense competition and plant mortality. However, as cultivation time increases and plant density decreases, competition among plants in cultivated grasslands stabilizes ( Schippers and Kropff, 2001 ; Partzsch, 2011 ). Our research demonstrates that the Relative Yield of P. tenuiflora and P. pratensis in mixed sowing grasslands tends to stabilize with increasing cultivation years.…”

“…For that reason, the species-rich secondary vegetation of dry grasslands is threatened by the undesirable expansion of perennial herbs (particularly tall grasses) and woody species (Dzwonko and Loster 1998;Partzsch 2000Partzsch , 2011Bąba 2003;Bornkamm 2006;Enyedi and others 2008;Dostálek and Frantík 2008;Rusina and Kiehl 2010;Poschlod and others 2011).…”
