Does the dietary graded levels of herbal mixture powder impact growth, carcass traits, blood indices and meat quality of the broilers?

Abstract: The present study was conducted to investigate the impacts of dietary supplementation of graded levels of herbal mixture powder (HMP) on growth performance, carcass traits, blood indices and meat quality of broilers. The herbal mixture consisted of (300 g [Capsicum annuum] Hot red pepper þ 300 g Thymus vulgaris þ 300 g Salvia rosmarinus þ 150 g Pimpinella anisum þ 150 g Mentha spicata þ 300 g Nigella sativa þ 300 g garlic [Allium sativum]). “…Previously we obtained significantly (p<0.05) higher gizzard in broiler fed oregano plant and oregano essential oil (Vlaicu et al, 2020c). Similarly, Ashour et al (2020), reported that the highest (P < 0.05) weight of gizzard and heart was in broilers fed with 2% herbal plant mixture and C group, without any effect on other organs. On the other hand, Abou-Elkhair et al ( 2014) and Amouzmehr et al (2012) reported no significant effect in the gizzard, heart, and liver across the groups fed different herbal plants and mixtures.…”

“…Paulownia is one of the traditional Chinese medical ( 13 ), which contains a variety of active ingredients such as flavonoids, phenolic acids, saponins, phenylethanoid glycosides, lignans, and triterpenoids in its leaf, fruit, and flower ( 12 , 19 , 35 ), with multiple pharmacological and economical values ( 18 ). Our GC mass analysis demonstrated that the methanolic extract of P. tomentosa included large amounts of thymol, phytol, flavonoids, and other bioactive compounds, which indicates the great efficacy of methanol as an organic solvent in extracting the primary bioactive molecules found within leaves.…”
