Abstract:The corneal arcus is a degenerative change that involves lipid deposition and presents as a white circumferential band located in the peripheral cornea. Arcus occurs with age (arcus senilis) and is not considered pathologic; it can also be associated with hyperlipoproteinemia in younger age groups (arcus juvenilis).
