BACKGROUND: An incision wound is a wound caused by a sharp object. One of the plants that can be used as a traditional medicine for an incision wound is salaon leaves. The prepared form chosen is the gel because it is easy to use and its distribution is faster on the skin. AIM: The aim of the study was to explore whether salaon leaf extract gel meets the quality evaluation requirements and to know the effectiveness of ethanol extract gel of salaon (Parsonsia alboflavescens [Dennst] Mabb.) leaves to cure a scar on male rats. METHODS: Experimental method with salaon leaves as sample. Simplicia of salaon leaves extracted by maceration method, and then arenga gum gel-based formulation, afterward evaluation, and testing of its effectiveness on the healing of incision wound of male rats. Normal data were analyzed by the One Way Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Post Hoc Tuckey Method. Kruskal-Wallis test used for abnormal data. RESULTS: The whole formula shows homogenous results, normal pH, stability, dissemination and good viscosity, less irritating, and with good adhesion. The results of a statistical analysis of the wound on the 8th day with ANOVA test indicate a significant difference between the five groups p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) and Post-Hoc Tukey Honest Significant Difference test results obtained a concentration of 5% not significantly different from the positive control Placenta extract gel. The optimum dose that can heal incision wound in male rats is 5%. CONCLUSION: The whole formulation qualifies for the quality of the gel formulation. Ethanol extract gel of salaon leaves can heal wound on male rats and the optimal dose is 5%.

Collagen is one of the proteins that make up the body or the organic structure that builds bones, teeth, joints, muscles, and skin. Collagen is very often used by the community because it is to maintain healthy skin and maintain skin elasticity. This study aims to determine collagen from bovine bones can be formulated into transparent soap preparations. Bovine bone collagen (Bos sp.) was extracted by immersion using 1N NaOH. The production of transparent soap formulas in several concentrations is 0.5%, 1%, 2.5%, and 5% collagen. The bovine bone collagen yield was obtained 27.5%. Collagen in a variety of concentrations produces different colors and the ability to moisturize the skin. Bovine bone collagen (Bos sp.) was formulated in transparent soap preparations from bovine bone collagen (Bos sp.) with a concentration of 0.5% including the category "moist" and transparent soap preparation from bovine bone collagen (Bos sp.) 1% , 2.5%, and 5% including the category of "very humid" and the results of testing on volunteers showed that transparent soap from collagen in bovine bone (Bos sp.) did not cause irritation.

Phosphorus is a chemical element having a boiling point of 280 o C. One of phosphorus utilization is crosslinking phosphate on starch and gum. The research on the analysis of phosphorus level in phosphorylated starch mostly begins with dry digestion. Durian seeds contain gum which can be extracted with water and then phosphorylated with sodium trimetaphosphate (STMP). Therefore, this study aims to compare the results of phosphorus gum concentrate content of durian phosphorylated seed with dry and wet digestion method. Analysis of phosphorus content by wet digestionmethod at Gum Phosphate Durian (DGF) 1:1 and DGF 2:1, yielded 14.45% and 10.99%. Phosphorus content with dry digestion method at DGF1:1 and DGF 2:1 gave result 0.69% and 0.32%. The degree of substitution of DGF 1:1 and DGF 2:1 gave result 1.44, and 0.90. The surface morphology of DGF particles shows the fused surface with elements C, O, Na, K and P.
