Abstract:DC arc behavior is normally a complicated and rapid time-dependent evolution process. To investigate the climbing behavior, dynamic properties, as well as the self-extinction mechanism, an experimental platform in collaboration with a pair of Jacob’s ladder electrodes was established. The overall evolution process including arc generation, arc combustion, and arc self-extinction was well accomplished. The dynamic climbing behavior and dynamic emission spectrum were captured. The dynamic volt-ampere characteris… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
