Dynamic evaluation of prolactin secretion by successive TRH and metoclopramide stimulations

Abstract: We evaluated the clinical applicability of a 2-h test in which the prolactin (Prl) responses to thyrotrophin releasing hormone (TRH) (200 \g=m\g iv) and the dopamine antagonist, metoclopramide (MC; 10 mg iv) were studied successively, 1 h apart. Nine healthy women were studied with TRH-MC test and with another test in which MC alone was used or the drugs were given in opposite order.
