Dynamic modeling and simulation of power transformer maintenance costs

Abstract: The paper presents the dynamic model of maintenance costs of the power transformer functional components. Reliability is modeled combining the exponential and Weibull's distribution. The simulation was performed with the aim of corrective maintenance and installation of the continuous monitoring system of the most critical components. Simulation Dynamic System (SDS) method and VENSIM PLE software was used to simulate the cost. In this way, significant savings in maintenance costs will be achi… Show more

“…They made an application that included medical equipment such as baby incubators, infusion pumps, and computed tomography scanners. Ristic et al (2016) developed a dynamic maintenance cost model for the components of a power transformer to save on maintenance costs with a small initial investment. Bao et al (2017) proposed an approach based on the FMEA method and a modified AHP technique to assess occupational disease risk in the Chinese mining industry.…”

“…The next part that follows presents diagrams which display dependency between electrical and mechanical values of direct and inverse sequence, as to enable comparison of these values in the machine and in order to determine their influence on machine performance. The machine transient state is determined through addition of direct and inverse components of electrical values (voltage and current) according to equation (6) for matrix transformation, equation (23) for electromotor force and equation (24) Other parameters can be seen from the scheme.…”

“…It is widely applied in various areas such as politics, engineering, manufacturing, environmental, social and macro-economic issues (Sterman, 2000; Smith and Ackere, 2002; Khan et al , 2009; Khorshidi et al , 2015). Many researchers studied the application of SD in the maintenance area (Coyle and Gardiner, 1991; Linard, 2000; Thun, 2004; Xiaohu et al , 2007; Shahanaghi and Yazdian, 2009; Fan et al , 2010; Handani et al , 2011; Basirat et al , 2013; Mallick et al , 2014; Khorshidi et al , 2015; Ristić et al , 2016; Esmaeili, 2019).…”

“…Handani et al (2011) used an SD simulation to identify potential failures and prevent functional failures of maintainable items of ship machinery components. Ristić et al (2016) developed a dynamic maintenance costs model for a power transformer's components to save maintenance costs with a small initial investment.…”
