Dynamic polarizability and electric multipolar transitions in two electron atoms under exponential cosine screened coulomb potential

Abstract: Detailed investigations on the frequency dependent polarizabilities, transition energies, oscillator strengths, and transition probabilities of two electron systems He, Be2+, C4+, and O6+ under electric dipolar (E1) and quadrupolar (E2) excitations have been performed using exponential cosine screened coulomb potential with a view to understand the structural behaviour of such systems due to external confinement produced by plasma environment. Time dependent coupled Hartree–Fock theory within a variational fra… Show more

“…Chaudhuri et al have gone into the hyperpolarizability of two electron atoms under the ECSC potential with interesting features noted [23]. Moveover, they have researched the dynamic polarizability and electric multipolar transitions in two electron atoms under this potential [24]. However, we have not still observed any research on Stark resonances under this potential.…”

“…The values of δ used were chosen both to make the effects analyzed in the text clearer and to consider the region of δ values typical for modeling the one-and many-electron effects of shielding to describe transitions or polarization effects in plasma and for chemical bonding (e.g. for modeling by popular DFT constructions) [33][34][35]. We considered ω over the range of energies from ω=0 (static) to 0.3 E h .…”

“…The study of the screened atomic systems or confined atomic systems has become a hot topic of current research due to its importance in different areas of physics and chemistry . Particularly, the structures of the screened‐atomic systems or the atomic systems interaction with screened Coulomb potentials provide useful information for the plasma diagnostics and for the plasma spectroscopy . Plasma effects on atomic processes are in general taken care of by suitable choice of the screened Coulomb potentials.…”
