Dynamic rainfall erosivity estimates derived from IMERG data
Robert A. Emberson
Abstract:Abstract. Soil degradation is a critical threat to agriculture and food security
around the world. Understanding the processes that drive soil erosion is
necessary to support sustainable management practices and to reduce
eutrophication of water systems from fertilizer runoff. The erosivity of
precipitation is a primary control on the rate of soil erosion, but to
calculate erosivity high-frequency precipitation data are required. Prior
global-scale analysis has almost exclusively used ground-based rainfall
gau… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
