Abstract:During interphase, the nucleus contains a multitude of transcripts that influence the function of chromatin and global structure of the nucleus. Nuclear transcripts include nascent mRNAs in the process of transcription and mRNA processing, spliceosomal RNAs which catalyze mRNA processing, rRNAs that are being transcribed and processed to assemble functional ribosomes, and sno- and scaRNAs that participate in rRNA processing and modification. In addition, there are long noncoding RNAs (lncRNA) that associate wi… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
