Dynamic simulation of water resource management focused on water allocation and water reclamation in Chinese mining cities

Abstract: Mining cities have undergone the process of extensive exploitation, which always results in a series of water issues. Integrated water resource management is necessary in improving water supply, allocation and quality without damaging economic development. This article constructs a linear optimization model including a 'Top-Down' socio-economic mode, and 'Bottom-Up' water quality control and water supply-demand modes with integrated water resource management focused on water allocation and water reclamation. “…The economic-environment-natural gas resource multiobjective optimal allocation model established in this study is based on the actual situation of China's natural gas resource supply and demand, social, and economic development and atmospheric environment. Based on the model of Higano and Yoneta, 28 with reference to other scholars' model improvements, [29][30][31][32] we use equations to represent the actual situation as much as possible, and use Lingo software, the equation system model written as a programming language for simulation and trial calculations, to find the optimal solution, that is, the policy combination for the optimal allocation of natural gas resources. (a) Assume that the coefficients involved in the whole model are fixed; (b) assume that the model is a closed system, but can import natural gas from abroad, regardless of other exogenous variables outside the model.…”

“…A systematic approach to solving water shortage problems, addressing both interactive and nonlinear relationships, has proven to be effective (Simonovic, 2002;Xu et al, 2002;Tidwell & Van Den Brink, 2008;Winz et al, 2009;Sánchez-Román et al, 2010;Ke et al, 2016). The endogenous structure of the system can be elucidated, the relationship among different elements of the system can be explored, and the changing relations within the system when different decisions are implemented can be assessed.…”

“…The WorldWater model was further developed to the ANEMI model by adding the carbon emission process (Davies & Simonovic, 2011). Ke et al (2016) use a dynamic model to simulate water allocation and water reclamation in a Chinese mining city.…”
