“…Gylland et al [21] analyzed the inner structure of shear bands in sensitive clays using the computed tomography (CT) measurements. Among the testing methods mentioned above, the most effective testing methods for investigating shear bands are the DIC technique and CT measurements [22,23]. Compared with DIC, which can only measure the surface deformation of specimens, CT can measure the inner deformation of specimens non-destructively, rendering its superior over DIC.…”

“…Lee and Ji [20] analysed the experimental data of polymer material under tensile loading using DVC technique. Li et al employed the DVC algorithm in the mechanical test of soil [21] [22]. DVC-based deformation measurement has been reported to be applied on the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of intervertebral discs both ex vivo [23] and in vivo [24].…”

“…To study the particular property of weathered granite, many studies have been carried out since the 1960s (Lee, 1965). The research emphasis developed from the engineering qualitative classification (Irfan and Dearman, 1978), the basic physical properties (Lee, 1965), and the deformation/strength characteristics (Lee and Coop, 1995) to the hydraulic/mechanical properties of unsaturated weathered granite (Xiong et al, 2022), the microstructure distribution of the intact weathered granite (Shang et al, 2015) and the relationship between the microstructure and deformation of weathered granite (Li et al, 2020). In addition, the properties of weathered granites were compared with other geomaterials and any fruitful research results provide important new insights for reference.…”
