Dynamics of two-dimensional N = 2 , 2 $$ \mathcal{N}=\left(2,\;2\right) $$ theories with semichiral superfields I

Abstract: Abstract:We analyze the dynamics of a general two-dimensional N = (2, 2) gauged linear sigma model with semichiral superfields. By computing the elliptic genera, we study the vacuum structure of the model. The result coincides with the model without using semichiral superfields. We also show that the low energy effective twisted superpotential contributed by semichiral superfields vanishes, whether we turn on twisted masses or not.

“…Since our new GLSMs are much simpler than the previous one [33,46], then it would be possible to evaluate the instanton calculus by the localization techniques (see, for instance, the pioneer works [52,53,54,55,56,57,48,58] and many others). The localization with semi-chiral superfields [59,60] would be also helpful to analyze our semi-doubled GLSM.…”

“…Another interesting problem is the study of quantum aspects of two-dimensional gauge theories with semichiral multiplets [8,36,37]. Only some limited results in this direction are available [57], but the structure of quantum corrections to the generalized Kähler potential remains unknown.…”

“…1 Notice that the elliptic genus can suffer from a holomorphic anomaly for noncompact models. See [131][132][133] for examples with N = (2, 2) supersymmetry.…”
