“…Numerous test batteries exist for analyzing the development of behavioral reflexes (Fox 1965;Kodama 1993;Rogers et al 1997), sensory-motor development (Heuze et al 1997;Noel 1989;Roubertoux et al 1985Roubertoux et al , 1992, locomotor behavior (Brown et al 1999a), grooming (Bolivar et al 1996a), swimming (Bolivar et al 1996b), exploration (Tremml et al 1998), anxiety and fear (Ramboz et al 1998), ultrasonic vocalizations (Bolivar andBrown 1994;Hahn et al 1987), and social behavior (Williams and Scott 1954). Test batteries used for studying behavioral development include the Collaborative Behavioral Teratology Study Battery, the Cincinnati Psychoteratogenicity Screening Test Battery, and the Functional Observational Battery.…”

“…Body righting and negative geotaxic responses were impaired in Cacna1a rol mutants on postnatal days 14-22 and were slower on postnatal days 8-22. As mentioned above, slow body righting is a characteristic of Grid2 Lc (Thullier et al, 1997) and Rora sg (Heuzé et al, 1997) mutants. However, Grid2 Lc mutants with more severe cerebellar pathology than Cacna1a rol were faster than their wild-type controls in negative geotaxic responses (Thullier et al, 1997), indicating a reversed phenotypic expression.…”

“…Rora sg mutants were compared to non‐ataxic controls from postnatal days 1 to 9 in body righting and cliff aversion tests (Heuzé et al, 1997). The body righting of Rora sg mutants was slower than that of controls on postnatal days 7–9.…”

“…In fact, the age at which neonatal and perinatal behavioral milestones are acquired in DS murine models can be correlated with later cognitive performance in the adult (Olmos-Serrano et al, 2016). Numerous test batteries exist for analyzing the development of behavioral reflexes (Fox, 1965;Kodama, 1993;Rogers et al, 1997), sensory-motor development (Heuze, Feron, & Baudoin, 1997;Noel, 1989), locomotor behavior (Feather-Schussler & Ferguson, 2016), grooming, exploration, and ultrasonic vocalizations (Chang, Cole, & Costa, 2017), and social behavior (Chang et al, 2017).…”
