Ecosystem Services Value Assessment and Uneven Development of the Qingjiang River Basin in China

Abstract: Abstract:As an important ecological barrier in Southwest China, the Qingjiang river basin plays a vital role in shaping the mountainous terrain. This paper analyzes the Ecosystem Services Value (ESV) using a series of methods based on the data of changes in land use from 2000 to 2015 and the statistical yearbook. The changes in land use between 2000 and 2015 were dominated by forest land, which accounted for 60.63% of the total area, followed by arable landwhich accounted for about 22.26%, while grassland and … Show more

A large number of temple relics related to Linjun were built during the Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong period, and these became an important contemporary cultural heritage resource [29]. Following the destruction caused by geological and geomorphological disasters in the Wuling Mountains and the expansion of towns and villages, as well as the rise of the local high-speed railroads and highways, the cultural relics distributed along the ancient Sichuan Salt Road and the Ten-Thousand-Mile Tea Road lost their unique functions of "worship", "lighthouse" and "cohesion", and their role in warning people to protect the ecological environment has gradually faded [30].…”

“…In recent years, human activities such as cropland expansion and urbanization have led to increased ecosystem sensitivities, decreased carbon sequestration capacities, and aggravated soil erosion [9][10][11]. Future land-use planning should therefore meet the needs of environmental protection policies, and the characteristics of the impacts of changes in land use on ESs are essential for ecological planning and management [12,13].…”
