Edge caching strategy design and reward contract optimization for uAV-enabled mobile edge networks

Abstract: Edge caching is a promising technology to alleviate the burden on backhaul and improve the quality of experience (QoE) of users in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-enabled mobile edge networks, which has played an important role in wireless communication systems. However, owing to the selfish nature and limited battery life of the user equipments (UEs), only a limited part of the caching resources will be shared by the UEs. To drive the UEs to share more caching resources to improve the social welfare of the UAV-… Show more

“…Thus, we can classify the ESs based on their participation willingness. If there are types of participation willingness for the ESs, which are denoted as [ 20 ]: where a larger value of indicates a stronger desire for the ES to assist the intelligent telemedicine system. It is assumed that the probability of the ES with participation willingness is , and .…”

“…Every smart computer that owns a CA can interpret intent, cache user information, contact data, and create activity profiles based on the user interface in the Internet of things (IoT) system. We see a related caching approach in [18], where the authors jointly suggest an edge caching technique that considers information awareness and a reward-based algorithm to encourage UAV-focused content sharing of the user equipment. Next, to realise the effectiveness of probabilistic caching, the authors in [19] investigated the service success probability in a heterogeneous network by implementing a base station (BS) in a UAV with different caching capacities and then maximising the probability caching placement.…”

“…Mobile edge computing (MEC) has been seen as a new evolution of cloud computing, in which the function of servers or access points moves towards the network edges to support the intensive computation needs of wireless devices in NGWCNs [14][15][16][17][18]. In this kind of computing approach, the edge servers serve as the computational access points to help accomplish the computation tasks of mobile computation-constrained devices through wireless links.…”
