Environmental education needs to be given to adolescents, considering adolescence is when the development of values, identity, and moral structure occurs intensively. This study analyzes high school student council officers’ motivation to protect the environment at SMA Islam Al Azhar 14 Semarang. Data collection in this study used interviews, observation, and documentation techniques with data analysis in the form of qualitative analysis. The results showed that students understand actions that protect the environment well. Their motivation to protect the environment includes health, beauty, comfort, responsibility, sustainability, and ecosystem balance. This research shows the importance of environmental education, which links environmental issues with their impact on humans. The study’s findings can be used to create more engaging and relevant environmental education programs for high school students.
