Show more

“…Grape seeds are distinguished by high oil content, and they are used as primary material for the production of grape oil [17,24]. Besides, as it is noted by [25,26,27], the makeup of fatty acids of directly pressed grape oil considerably depends upon the grape variety. Our research has shown prevalence of linoleic and oleic acids in grape oil extracted from seeds of grapes of different varieties (Table 3).…”

“…Recently, our study group published a work that assessed the effect of chronic consumption of GSD, obtained from the Brazilian market, in biochemical markers and inflammation of healthy rats and we found that GSD consumption did not induce significant metabolic changes, however the contribution to an increase in the levels of HDL was suggested, even a rise in levels of serum lipid peroxidation was noticed (Shinagawa et al, 2015). Choi et al (2010) showed GSD supplementation in pigs decreased levels of total fat 30% to 20%, this being important note for meat quality and closely correlated with lipid metabolism of animals.…”

“…The accumulation of lipids in the liver tissue suggests possible occurrence of oxidative damage and disruption of homeostasis in glucose and lipid metabolism 17 . Thus, results regarding the increase in triacylglycerols levels in liver shows susceptibility of the tissue of these animals to peroxidation, with possible effect on increasing end products of lipid peroxidation.…”
