Abstract: Pillar is a part of the deposition of excavated material that is left behind to sustain the rock weight above it. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of height and diameter ratio on the strength of the pillar obtained from uniaxial compressive strength testing and numerical modeling. Laboratory test results showed that pillars with a ratio of 1.5 H/D did not show an increase in strength of 1.83%, while pillars with a ratio of 1 H/D gave a more significant increase in strength, which was 32.99%.
