Effect of Aggressive Pulmonary Physiotherapy for a Patient with Cryptogenic Organizing Pneumonia (COP): A case study:Possibility of Physiotherapy for Types of Idiopathic Interstitial Pneumonias (IIPs)

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of pulmonary physical therapy for a patient with cryptogenic organizing pneumonia (COP), a type of idiopathic interstitial pneumonia. [Subjects] The subject was a patient with COP. [Methods] This was a case study. The respiratory function test, cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPX), Nagasaki University respiratory activities of daily living questionnaire (NRADL) at the start and end of the 7-week were evaluated. [Results] The subject's exercise tolerance capacity and NRADL improved, indicating that the pulmonary physical therapy was effective for this patient with COP. [Conclusion] We conclude that the pulmonary physiotherapy was effective for this patient with COP.
