■ AbstractType 2 diabetes (T2D) markedly increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. Endothelial dysfunction (ED), an early indicator of diabetic vascular disease, is common in T2D and independently predicts cardiovascular risk. Although the precise pathogenic mechanisms for ED in T2D remain unclear, at inception they probably involve uncoupling of both endothelial nitric oxide synthase activity and mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, as well as the activation of vascular nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase. The major contributing factors include dyslipoproteinemia, oxidative stress, and inflammation. Therapeutic interventions are designed to target these pathophysiological factors that underlie ED. Therapeutic interventions, including lifestyle changes, antiglycemic agents and lipid-regulating therapies, aim to correct hyperglycemia and atherogenic dyslipidemia and to improve ED. However, high residual cardiovascular risk is seen in both research and clinical practice settings. Well-designed studies of endothelial function in appropriately selected volunteers afford a good opportunity to test new therapeutic interventions, paving the way for clinical trials and utilization in the care of the diabetic patient. However, based on the results from a recent clinical trial, niacin should not be added to a statin in individuals with low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and very well controlled low-density lipoprotein cholesterol.

Abstract:The focus in the research of antioxidants is notably displaced in favour of research of enzyme derivatives. Extracellular superoxide dismutase (EC-SOD) is of the particular interest, as it demonstrates in vivo the protective action against development of atherosclerosis, hypertension, heart failure, diabetes mellitus. The reliable association of coronary artery disease with the decreased level of heparin-released EC-SOD was established in clinical researches. To base and develop antioxidant therapy, various SOD isozymes, catalase (CAT), the methods of experimental gene therapy, combined application of SOD-and CAT-activities are used. Covalent bienzyme SOD -CHS -CAT conjugate (where CHS -chondroitin sulphate) showed in the experimental trials its high efficacy as the antithrombotic agent. Pre-clinical research data approve the reliable option to gain for it the status of drug candidate. The trend to use the components of glycocalyx and extracellular matrix for target delivery of medical substances is evident. Development of new enzyme antioxidants for therapeutical destination is closely connected with becoming and progress of medical biotechnology, pharmaceutical industry, bioeconomy.

The essentiality of nutrients keeps on changing with the advancement in nutritional research and genetic gain. The genetic gain especially in poultry sector is very high which results in increase in nutrient requirement of both the essential and non-essential nutrients. For the rapid growth the requirement of essential nutrients reaches many folds which are in direct relation with the performance, but the requirement for non-essential nutrients is an indirect one. Most of the dispensable amino acids, vitamin C, carnitine, etc. which are being synthesized endogenously are now a days unable to meet the birds requirements that warrants the dietary supply. Another important nutrient is coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) which endogenously synthesized is now gaining much attention as a supplement for fast growing broilers. The CoQ10 can be termed as multi-functionary as each and every cell in the body needs this but quantity is being high for very active organs like heart, lungs, liver, kidney, etc. They are essential for cellular oxidative phosphorylation and regenerative antioxidant. The supplementation of CoQ10 improved the feed efficiency with reducing the electron leaks from mitochondria and increases total antioxidant capacity. For this property, CoQ10 is widely used in human medicine especially persons suffering from cardiac, neurological disorder, hypercholesterolemic condition and also even in cancer. The CoQ10 in poultry draws first attention when it is found to reducing the ascites mortality in marketable broilers. Thereafter, the advantages of CoQ10 is started to exploit with much attention to ascites, feed efficiency, cholesterol lowering effect nutraceutical and nutrigenomic property both in poultry and swine industry.
