Abstract: This study investigated the effect of dislocation density on microstructural transformation and mechanical properties of Fe-7.23Mn-4.42Al-0.09C-1.99Si (wt.%) steel. By the tempering treatment, the dislocation density was reduced. The effect of of dislocation density on the plasticity of the steel was analyzed. The dislocation density was reduced from 2.3 × 10−16 m−2 to 1.6 10−16m−2 by tempering.
