Abstract:BACKGROUND
Abstract: Tracheoesophageal fistula represents a serious and often life-threatening complication in mechanically ventilated patients, characterized by an abnormal connection between the trachea and esophagus. Proper caring of patients on mechanical ventilation to minimize rate of TOF as, monitoring respiratory status and placement of endotracheal or tracheostomy tube, continuous monitoring for endotracheal and tracheostomy cuff pressure.
